• In 2020, still in thrall to Mr. Banks and his lies, a new Board used Strand's resulting suicide attempt against him, prolonging the Bogus Restraining Order until the year 2026.
Strand is certain to miss all of Jim's remaining birthday celebrations on the roof. Forbidden to be seen in the common areas, he now uses the fluff & fold service at Bryan's. (He stops there on his way to therapy.)
Strand bitterly remembers a friendlier time at the Castle—before the cops and lawyers... before the "bad blood" and vindictive, draconian punishments—a time when there was a wonderfully friendly stray cat named Raymond who lived in the basement... where the books used to be.
Not in living memory has one seen such a dysfunctional HOA board. [And that is proper usage of the phrase, "living memory". --Ed.]
In 2021, Randy Banks died of throat cancer.
